My name is Tim. I am 32 years old and live in New Orleans, LA. I am blessed to be the husband of Emily Lawrence Bray (for almost 10 years) and we have two awesome little girls–Oliva (8 going on 20) and Sarah-Cate (6.5). The most striking of connections in my life is that with God. I am a Christian…not in the typical Western sense of, say, a southern-born guy whose grandmother attended a protestant church. I mean in the full exclusive, even mystical way, of a regeneration and transformation sort of conversion that causes one to not only pass from darkness to light, but to be adopted into the actual family of God. I am completely and utterly devoted to Christ and all of my life is dedicated to His purpose.
That being said…I am not only a disciple of Christ, but a preacher/teacher. I have been in ministry for over 12 years. After completing a BA in Religion from Luther Rice College, my family and I moved to New Orleans to attend the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2005. Unfortunately, Hurricane Katrina came through a few months later and we lost virtually everything we owned. After a short time of ministry back in GA, we moved back to the campus in July 2006 where I am completing an Master of Divinity (specializing in Philosophy/Ethics). I graduate this December and then off to who knows where! My desire is to pursue a PhD in philosophy (where my main areas of interest are in value theory and epistemology). My main goal is to have the privilege of pasturing again and helping plant new churches. The random rants you will find on this page are from an incomplete, yet morphing follower of Jesus who is still trying to learn to stop and smell the roses…
